I urge you to read Question of character, Robin Vaccai Yess’ most recent post on the Liberty Coalition blog. It begins like this:
- On June 26 Clerk of the Legislature Karen Binder passed away after a tough battle with cancer. For those of you who paid attention there was a lot of “quiet” talk about Clerk Binder’s treatment by Chairwoman Bernardo and her immediate staff in the months immediately preceding her death.
Robin Vaccai Yess has obtained documentation that supports the claim that Chairwoman Bernardo requested an audit of Clerk Binder’s “comp” time – which she was using to receive cancer treatments and see her doctors. Comp time is time off during regular business hours to compensate for hours worked outside regular business hours.
First page of the 10-page response to Robin’s FOIL request shows that Terry Bernardo actively tried to deny Karen Binder comp time:
Terry Bernardo’s concern about one experienced and dedicated terminally ill employee taking time off – and whether or not she deserved her salary – was part of a disgusting ploy. She already told the Legislative Clerk’s staff at their first meeting “if it were up to me I’d fire all of you.” She needed room to spend taxpayers’ money on hiring her cronies.
– Jon Dogar-Marinesco
“If it were up to me I’d fire you all” speaks volumes about Chairwoman Bernardo: the most un-experienced Chair ever willing to fire the entire experienced Legislative staff!
Under all that Botox and behind the fake lashes there is a real monster.
She had a vendetta against Minority Leader Donaldson (Tantillo’s Law) and took it out on Tomshaw, Binder, Spinnozzi and Wilson. So much for the “deal” to be chair. She didn’t plan on Karen passing so suddenly. A very sad day for all concerned.
DESPICABLE AND DISGUSTING!
