The Veterans Day ceremony at the Rochester Veterans Park
becomes more and more of a tradition…
Veterans, elected officials and fellow residents were proud to honor Rochester’s oldest veteran, Herbert Jenkins (red beret, above and below). On November 7, 2013, Herbert ‘Ben’ Jenkins turned 100. As reported in Blue Stone Press (Nov. 1, 2013 issue), he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S. Gulfstream in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Happy 100th birthday and thank you for your service, Ben!

Jon, Thank you for this posting. It was a nice event and it was great that we were honored with Mr. Jenkins’ presence at the event – as well as all of the other veterans who attended. Thank you to those who have served so that we are able to enjoy the rights we have and thank you to those who are serving in the military as well as their families. May the Lord protect them and bring them all home safe to their loved ones. Also, a big thank you to you and Manu for being there and helping out as well as for the work you did with the design of our Town of Rochester Veterans’ Park.
Thank you, Carl, for the kind words…
