And the Terry goes to…

Lynn Archer

People’s Choice… Golden Globes… Oscars… Tonys… Emmys…
Something is missing, and I have the remedy.

Proudly introducing the Terry Award, to be presented each year
to the most malignant Ulster County politician.

Don’t be shy, send in your nomination via a comment on this blog. Name and reason.
The deadline is January 31, 2014.

The front-runners will be featured in a poll, and your votes will determine the winner.

Thank you!

Next year Len Bernardo is going to be a strong candidate for this award, as he already pulled all the strings to install his buddy John Parete as Chair of the Legislature. But this year, please God, let David O’Halloran be the winner. He accepted the vice chairmanship of the Ulster County Republican Committee only to resign a few weeks later. He destroyed the local Republican party by giving access and power to the Bernardos, but didn’t stay on to fix the problems. He cowardly resigned the chairmanship of the town’s republican committee when his schemes didn’t work out. Give him the award, please! Give him the glory of being the first Terry Award recipient! After all, he’s the one who enabled Terry Bernardo. You said malignant, didn’t you?

My nomination is for the one and only chairman of everything and anything, David O’Hell-I-never-run-I-strictly-do-appointments.

  3. Anonymous says:

Dave Donaldson, who connived with Republicans on behalf of John Parete so he could become Vice Chair, #1 traitor with no moral character.

O’Halloran is my choice. He has totally destroyed the Town of Rochester Republican Committee.
Good government starts at the local level. Rochester will need to work extremely hard to undo all the damage this man has done.

The next Terry award should be shared by the legislators “Parody” and Double-crossing Dave Donaldson.

John “6-inch” Parete. Just your self-professed average political tool.

Parete is just a tool. We wouldn’t have had the Parete/Donaldson situation without Bernardo. We wouldn’t have had the Terry Bernardo nightmare without Len Bernardo. But we wouldn’t have had the Bernardos in politics without David O’Halloran of Rochester. We owe it to O’Halloran, because nothing good came out of his involvement in politics. O’Halloran should get the first Terry Award!

I remember reading on a blog – possibly this one, I’m not sure – that Len Bernardo is the cancer of Ulster County politics, and I agreed one hundred percent. Len really deserves the Terry award.

It’s my pleasure to nominate Len Bernardo for the 2014 Terry Award. Do I need to say why?

The Terry Award (like the Academy Awards) should be awarded by category.
The most ineffective, the most obstructive, the most backhanded, the most destructive, etc.
Of course, some may be eligible for multiple awards. We certainly wouldn’t want to leave any deserving politician out the Ulster County Hall of the Despicable.

The inaugural Terry should obviously go to its namesake. Imagine….she can thank all the little people…yup that would be Len

Roger Rascoe is results oriented. Republican membership has declined during his tenure. The entire Route 209 corridor from Hurley to Wawarsing has been handed to the Democrats. But Jane, his wife, eased into the chair behind the Town Clerk’s desk with no challenge in the primary and general election. Rascoe is my nominee for the Terry Award.

What do you have to say?
