Tom Turco out, Terry Bernardo in… Go ahead, laugh!

Terry Bernardo

You laughed when Terry Bernardo said she wants to be a Legislator.
You laughed when she promised to be the Chairwoman of Ulster County Legislature.
Now she wants to be a Commissioner of Elections… Go ahead, laugh now, cry later…

Apparently, Len Bernardo – the Chair of the fraudulent Ulster County Independence Party – is asking the Ulster County Legislators to give Tom Turco’s job to his wife. It’s true, when it comes to Election Law, Terry Bernardo is in a league of her own. She was fined by the New York State Board of Elections for not filing the mandatory financial disclosures, she filed a petition containing the signature of a deceased person, and she casually broke the Election Law:

The Ulster County Board of Elections denied 52 of Bernardo’s 364 petitions, several of which were signed at a “Free Lunch” offered by the candidate on June 12, where petitions were made available.

According to NYS election law, “Any person who pays, lends, contributes or promises to pay, lend, or contribute any money or other valuable consideration” to any voter to sign a petition for the designation of a candidate for party nomination or for election for public office “is guilty of a misdemeanor.”

See below my preferred example of Terry Bernardo being sloppy with the electoral process. She actually filed this petition on which only the signature marked with the red dot was legitimate:

Terry Bernardo

Don’t be surprised if Terry Bernardo is unofficially nominated for Commissioner of Elections at tomorrow’s Republican Convention, and don’t be surprised if the sheep in the Ulster County Legislature make that official. The Independence Party line on the ballot comes with a price…

If you’re not outraged, you’re not paying attention.

Bernardo for Commissioner and Zimet for Assembly! Gotta love the UC Republican committee!

People of Rochester would realize – if this terrible thing does happen – the magnitude of O’Halloran’s negative impact on County politics. O’Halloran is the one who fed the bad wolf. O’Halloran was Len’s “manager” in the County race. O’Halloran created the Bernardo monsters. At least, O’Halloran should explain what the hell was he hoping to gain.

So the most unqualified and most corrupt wins again?! Disgusting! At least Tom Turco plays tennis… and oh! yes, he’s a lawyer!

  5. Anonymous says:

This is no laughing matter! I hope the Legistature is not stupid enough to agree to such madness.

Tom Turco is a lawyer? News to me and a lot of other people.

If that happens…I will go from dropping out of GOP politics to attacking every UC GOP political person. Open war – starting with Roger!

6:17pm “Bad Wolf” This is David, why did I feed the bad wolf is a long story. I got involved with Mario, the UC GOP chair, and we all thought our candidate for the new CE position was Quigley. He was considering a break from Wallstreet and was paper perfect to run the county. Well, Bonacic informed us that we had another top NYC money guy – Len Bernardo. Quigley accepted comptroller and Len became our candidate with big bucks to buy a real election. Len asked me to get involved, I did – 100%. Soon my role, was to work with the hired campaign consultant on print and media for the campaign. Bonacic’s Langdon Chapman was attached to Len at the hip, making all decisions in the campaign, the money kept flowing but Len couldn’t put two sentences together in a debate that made any sense. We lost voters every time he spoke, it was embarrassing for all involved. Quigley, Nina and others did their best to smile with Len in photo ops, but distanced themselves from the unpredictable candidate. Our polling show us behind by 30% throughout the campaign! we all knew it was a lost race but the senator wanted us to push on, spend more money, we did.

That’s the very short version. Me, I was a fool. Many regrets.

Yes, David, this is a very short version, shorter by half. Len’s saga ended in 2008. Exactly one year ago – 2013! – you were still in cahoots with Bernardos. Did you really believe that Terry Bernardo had what it takes to be Rochester’s Legislator? Hint: compared with her Len is the stable and articulate one.

Well, with O’Halloran’s explanation he at least confirms what most of us already know. Politics are all about the money and power, not about a good candidate that is actually looking to get in office to do some good. These people make it almost impossible for a good qualified person to get elected at any level of government.

5:00pm Jon. Oh that was 1/100th of the story, i have much more stupidity to account for from my years involved in Rochester/UC politics. Funny thing, regardless of each decision made, the outcome would not have changed, being involved in politics in UC is like swimming in a sewer. Everyone involved stinks, a year later I still smell like crap. Robin has the answer, move away from the smell.

Wake Up Ulster — and Town of Rochester! The smell comes from the Senate. He used Barbie and sent her to the wolves. He fed Davie’s ego, Len’s stupidity and played Terry to once again keep Ulster under his thumb. He’s got the county and control of the casinos. Success.

    Thanks Roger!

Kevin Roberts for NYS Assembly? Only in Ulster County could such a lightweight candidate be even considered. Kevin Roberts actually thinks he’s a real candidate, our luck, the excellent adventure of kevin Roberts wins! He is perfect, clueless and Roger’s best boy.

  15. Anonymous says:

The question is, does Roberts really believe he can win? If he does, he needs to get back on that wacky weed!

  16. Anonymous says:

Kevin will win but it won’t be Kevin Roberts. I think we can all agree on that. Zimet is and will be a non factor.

  17. Anonymous says:

So pathetic — the good people vote. The silly people run for office!

  18. Anonymous says:

As a longtime Republican, I urge Kevin Roberts to reconsider what this will do to his future. I will point him towards Fawn Tantillo, Glen Noonan, Robin Yess and the pony tail guy who ran last time and whose name I can’t even remember right now. This is not a stepping stone to higher office, it is the beginning of the downward spiral out of public life. The political careers of Cahill’s former mediocre opponents (like Roberts) are right there, all he has to do is look at them.

Strategically Bernardo is bright enough not to call upon those legislators who know what goes on behind the scenes.
