Picture this… The year is 2010, while the legislator next to Walter Frey is Terry Bernardo. You could almost hear her mind screeching around one thought: Wadnola’s got to go!
The rookie legislator hates to sit in the back of the room… Not what Len promised!

During the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011 Terry Bernardo got busy.

What happened since this letter was sent it’s even more telling. Len Bernardo and the GOP’s good old boys conspired against Robin Vaccai, Robin resigned in disgust, the Republican and Conservative Parties’ “leaders” got better and better at sucking up to Len Bernardo, and look who’s the Chair of Ulster County Legislature!

That Terry Bernardo is useless as an elected official is common knowledge. She couldn’t be bothered with serving her constituency. She craves positions, so everybody in her way has got to go. Hein’s got to go! Cahill’s got to go! Cuomo’s got to go! Eventually, Seward’s got to go! too, ’cause Terry wants his seat.

As you could see above, either this pampering by all political parties agrees to Terry, or she has discovered the fountain of youth. In my post Tax Time 209 I have already mentioned Terry Bernardo‘s whining on Facebook. Today, a Freeman article gives us a better picture:

Ulster County Legislature Chairwoman Terry Bernardo this week launched an attack on Facebook against County Executive Michael Hein, accusing him of using the county Industrial Development Agency to carry out a political vendetta and to shake down Skate Time 209, the business owned by Bernardo and her husband, Len.

Terry Bernardo posted on her Facebook page:

“Sending someone into my business, pretending to want to book a birthday party, in order to get jobs information, to use in a political campaign is dirty politics. Hiring that person to an $80,000 job after winning the election smacks of political payback. Continuing that vendetta together with the fake birthday party booker for the next 4 years to shake down my business for political purposes, to amend an existing contract that has been in place for 7 years, and has 3 years to go (2 years on another part), is just vile. And the partnership and complicity with the local newspapers and government in this matter is sordid.”

She’s referring to her husband 2008 failed candidacy but describes her own modus operandi: using private information in a dirty political campaign, hiring political cronies for a quarter million dollars after winning the election, continuing a vendetta against her challenger, you name it… The post appeared after the Industrial Development Agency (IDA) voted to take away all property tax breaks given to the Bernardos’ business if the couple doesn’t agree to a voluntary reduction in tax breaks.

Skate Time 209 was one of several businesses identified by the agency as not meeting job projections. But, in her Facebook posting, Bernardo insinuates that IDA – headed by Town of Rochester Republican Chairman David O’Halloran – is in cahoots with Mike Hein to shake down Skate Time 209. “It has nothing to do with previous political attacks,” O’Halloran said. “It has to do with a cleanup behavior initiated by the current (IDA) board.”

“They are caught in the net,” O’Halloran said of the Bernardos.

Controversial Rochester Legislator Terry Bernardo has resigned effective today after questions arose regarding a plethora of issues: being forced to pay a penalty fine for breaking the New York Election Law, being the subject of a NYS Department of State investigation regarding her behavior as a Notary Public, breaking the law by having groups overnight at her business (Skate Time 209), and being outed as a fraudulent IDA tax break beneficiary.

Today, as she was forced to resign, Mrs. Bernardo’s political ambitions came to an end. The truth of being a law breaker and a fraud crashed her aspirations to become the County Executive, or a State Senator. Who will she blame now for her embarrassment?

So nice to see Manuela cares enough to tell us she cares enough at the same time she announces her run in District 21 (Rochester and East Wawarsing) for the UC Legislature. She and her husband care so much they have dedicated their lives to a personal attack blog called the Rochester Smokescreen who’s motto is ” The first reaction to truth is hatred”. I guess that explains their attacks. I’m aware that married people can have ideological differences and most always don’t agree on everything but usually birds of a feather……….. Yes she cares enough to attack the very best…….. We care enough to vote for the best candidate and that would be the incumbent or Troy Dunn!!!!!!

Despite the nausea that overcomes me every time I read something written by a Bernardo, I was able to focus on this sentence:

Where should I start?

To begin with, any person with a working brain understood long ago that this blog is mine alone. In 36 years, Manuela and I shared gazillions of things. This blog is not one of them. Please cut the idiocy.

Personal attack blog? Hardly! Never called Len a dwarf. Never discussed Terry’s illness. I always “attacked” their actions, and only those affecting other people, you know, trivial things as the right to have your vote count. Everything I ever said I can prove in a court of law (if the Bernardos didn’t buy all judges yet).

Did I dedicate my life to this blog? Let’s see… I launched the blog in June 2012, but I was born in 1945. You do the percentages!

The “breaking news” at the top? Not completely fake. All issues mentioned are facts, but Terry doesn’t have enough character to resign. But – years ago – she had the character to plant this fake news about Manuela, a despicable act for which she still has to apologize:

Delayed by a Rochester Town Board meeting where he spoke about Video Lottery Terminal gambling, David O’Halloran arrived at a county-wide GOP gathering just in time to be appointed vice-chair of Ulster County Republican Committee. He was tasked with fundraising on behalf of Terry Bernardo and the rest of incumbent Republican legislators. May he remember that St. Patrick banished all snakes from Ireland; may he do the same by banishing all snakes from the Ulster County Republican Party. May he enjoy the luck of the Irish today and throughout the year!

“Thelma tells me Tim Bunch, a young prison guard who attends our church and is a good, strong conservative republican may be interested in running for Town of Rochester supervisor against the incumbent – can’t bring his name up right now – but check Tim (Timothy Bunch) out. I don’t know what kind of a chance he has but he is interested.”

Apparently, Terry Bernardo is mad at Kurt Myers of Herkimer County who – this last Wednesday – set fire to his apartment, casually strolled into a barbershop and opened fire, killing two and injuring two others, then drove a mile up the road and worked his shotgun again, killing two more at a car-care shop on the main drag in the village. You see, the rampage put a kink in Terry’s plan to make an appearance at a pro-gun rally to be held there.

People are starting to toss their hats in the ring. Manuela Michailescu officially announced her run in District 21 (Rochester and East Wawarsing). Now there is a lot of buzz around Troy Dunn, who is expected to enter – rather sooner than later – the county legislative race, in the same district. According to a top level Ulster GOP leader, this is a 90% done deal. Both Troy’s parents served in the Ulster County Legislature.

Steven Fornal has the right – and a good reason – to hate me. For years I performed autopsies on his writings and exposed his defective thought processes. Hating me but attacking my wife is a case in point.

A letter to Editor sent by Manuela to a local newspaper triggered Steven Fornal’s offensive:

“…readers must remember seeing numerous letters/posts from her over the past year blatantly and desperately attempting to keep her name in the voting public’s mind for her upcoming political run (2013 for county legislator or town council).”

I like the way Fornal pretends to read Manuela’s mind, but I love how he covers all bases: “…for county legislator or town council” – clueless, dontcha think?

Manuela Michailescu wrote:

“…How long are people going to vote for somebody who casually breaks the laws, hires all her friends on the people’s dime, and avails herself of $160,000 in taxpayers’ money, compliments of the Industrial Development Agency?”

Steven Fornal replied:

“The rest of Michailescu’s screed goes on to imply that Ms. Bernardo somehow illicitly took money from county coffers via tax breaks given to her jointly owned business, Skate Time 209. The reality, however is that all new business ventures in UC use the tax breaks allowed them by law. Ms. Bernardo’s use of those tax breaks was no different than any other business that have located in Ulster County.”

Manuela Michailescu wrote:

“My applying for a volunteer position on the Historic Preservation Commission triggered accusations of being responsible for the Internet pornography. Two judges ruled in my favor but Fornal still brags of seeing my porno site. Nice man.”

Steven Fornal replied, I just inserted a few red words:

“What happened was two very prominent women on the Historic Preservation Commission names? caught wind how? of a pornographic link URL? affiliated with Manuela and Jon Dogar’s Brickhouse Antique website proof?. The link was real says who? and was witnessed by dozens of residents names? over the span of a couple of months porn addiction?.

The prominent women DEMANDED based on what? that Manuela be questioned about the porn site. I, in fact, pleaded with the town board in what capacity? NOT to question Manuela about it as the link URL?, while real says who?, could never be definitively proved to have anything to do with Manuela why? (although very possible her husband’s doing as he is a webmaster innuendo?).

They went ahead and asked (NOT accused ) her were you there? if she had any affiliation with or knowledge about the porn site. Manuela went ballistic were you there?. She began screaming and got up and unilaterally stopped the interview were you there?. She proceeded to go to the parking lot, get in her car and ram somebody’s car were you there?.

She went to court saying the interview had so upset her that she shouldn’t be held responsible were you there?. NY State Motor Vehicular law is very clear: Whoever is behind the wheel is responsible for what ensues really? always?. To avoid conflict of interest the case was referred to Hurley Town Court. A prominent rightwing proof? judge ruled that Manuela should get restitution from the town for the cost of fixing the damaged car really?.

The town immediately appealed, but then, within months, lost the election and the new board new board? dropped the appeal. So, ZERO judges ruled on her involvement with an internet porn site as she claims were you there?. Accusing me of bragging is again typical of whom?.

More than a year ago when an online back and forth soon led to the unjust charge against Manuela, I remarked that the link was real URL?, I and many other people names? had seen it over the course of months, and that once the Town Board brought it to her attention when?, the site URL? disappeared within 24 hours poof!.

So the supposed fiction of a porn site connection was, in fact, a fact! says who? Town Board members had actual printouts of the Brickhouse site URL?, the connecting link (Manuela’s Playhouse) URL? and the porn site URL?. As anyone who has printed out a webpage knows, at the bottom of said page is the web URL; proof of the linkage URL?. The fact that the site disappeared so suddenly could very easily indicate a Jon Dogar Marinescu hand in the porn link. innuendo?“

With Fornal is hard to tell: is he an accomplished idiot who sincerely believes his own bull? or a perverted soul who enjoys spreading lies, fully knowing what they are?

After his latest diatribe against Manuela was rejected by newspapers, a desperate Fornal posted this masterpiece on his own Facebook page:

Nobody paid attention, so he upped the ante and dedicated a whole blog to Manuela:

It pains me to say it, but Steven Fornal is not a perfect idiot. Even he, despite being blinded by hate and anxious to serve Terry Bernardo…

…had a moment of lucidity and abandoned his first choice for the address of the blog.
For that, he fully deserves the medal for self-preservation.

Hi Gil,

I hope you are feeling better, I called around 4:30 today and Jamie said that you were out today.

Because my parents computer had gotten the ! on KL Detector, today when my parents brought their computer in, I tried to put the snoop free privacy detector on. The computer would not let me install the Snoop Free Privacy Detector.

As a reminder, here is what the KL detector had picked up that you said you should look at.
C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch\NOTEPAD.EXE-2F2D61E1.pf was modified.
C:\System Volume Information\EfaData was modified.
C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch\NOTEPAD.EXE-2F2D61E1.pf was modified.

After it wouldn’t let put the Snoop Free on, the computer would not connect to the internet using the AOL software – as it used to – BEFORE I put on the “new software”.  It would let you go to AOL through internet explorer (big surprise), but not though the AOL software – exactly like my computer wouldn’t let me connect to the internet via mozilla.   Now my 65 year old parents are complaining and complaining and complaining that they can’t use AOL.  God forbid they use internet explorer.  They are also still freaked out because I disabled their McAfee….  I haven’t told them what I think is going on with their computer yet.

They are from Maryland. Do computer hacking laws cover crossing state lines?  

There has got to be a common thread between all of us that are having these same issues with slow computers, computers that will only connect to the internet through Internet Explorer, all positive on the KL Detector with the !

Please tell me if there is anything that I can be scanning for searching for to find the common thread.

Do you want to tell me where you found the files on my computer and on my computer and David ‘s that had the similar file names with the same file extensions?

Also, I check my Skate Time computers regularly with the KL detector.  When Patti had last checked the computers in Skate Time, NONE of them got the ! I regularly check them too and had never gotten the ! on anything else other than my laptop.

Tonight the petri dish computer in the DJ booth got the ! on KL detector. I’m not worried if you are not worried because the kids do a ton of crap on that computer, and even more so since I haven’t been around. Let me know if you want me to send you the log for that one.

Plan B… we sign the new deal. I know it’s a good deal, but why give them any money at all? Let the taxpayers pay, on principle. Tax-payers. What part of tax-payers don’t they understand? Say we sign, then what? We must pay $8,340 more per year, that’s $22.84 per day, surely we can save that… Honey! How much is a pound of Botox nowadays?

Aw shucks! Almost forgot… It’s not enough to sign the agreement, we must also provide complete job data for 2012 to the Industrial Development Agency. Oh David, you again! Who the hell do you think you are? Dude, did you have to send me two requests via certified mail? What do you want from me? Blood? What complete data are you talking about? We never submitted complete data… Never existed, I thought you knew that… You didn’t have to tell the press that “if the Bernardos don’t provide that information, the PILOT will be terminated even if they do agree to the voluntary reduction…”

What should we do? What should I do? Staying home to write a comment on that Rochester smokescreen instead of attending IDA’s meeting? I don’t even remember if it was my idea or Terry’s. Jon didn’t let me post the comment anyway, but it was worth writing it. I told him… I told him…

You are so transparent. You want Terry to run for something else so Manu can be a legislator. You know she can’t beat Terry one on one.

The problem is Manu can’t win an election where she doesn’t have others dragging her along on their coattails. That’s the only reason she won in 2007. She’s an incompetent and a very stupid person. She can’t put together two intelligent words when she talks and she played Mrs. Stalin whenever she went into the youth commission or other town offices. The democrats can run a raccoon and it will beat Manu.

How’s the Fornino thing going for you? Did he ever respond to your stupid challenge? I’m guessing not. But if you keep bugging him he might just get his friends at the FBI to investigate you for bankruptcy fraud. so please. Keep taking potshots at people like Fornino and Leseur. Before elections: “Terry Bernardo will take good care of taxpayer dollars.”

This morning, in Freeman:

Two Ulster County businesses, including one co-owned
by Legislature leader Terry Bernardo, face tax ultimatum

KINGSTON, N.Y. — Two area business, including one owned by Ulster County Legislature Chairwoman Terry Bernardo and her husband, Len, have been given one week to agree to a voluntary reduction in payment-in-lieu-of-taxes benefits on property taxes.

Failing such agreement, they will be forced to pay the full tax bill levied against their properties.

Members of the Ulster County Industrial Development Agency voted Wednesday to give both the Bernardos’ business, Skate Time 209, as well as the Hudson Valley Sports Dome, until March 21 to enter a new deal.

David O’Halloran, chairman of the agency’s board of directors, said failure to agree to the reduction “will result in automatic termination” of the agreements.

The agency maintains the two businesses were given property tax breaks based, in part, on promises to create a certain number of full-time jobs. Both businesses have fallen short of those projections.

Terry Bernardo’ whine on Facebook, today:

Now the UCIDA wants to to “amend” our original agreement, and if we don’t they are going to break the original agreement, which would force us to file an article 78 (sue) which would cost my husband and myself thousand of dollars.

Anything to smear us…….

If we pay a little bit of money it will go away, or pay a lot of money and stand on principle.

My advice to Terry: Stand on principle and pay a lot of money, then pay attention to this comment in Freeman:

YES! It is about time! What about restitution? If it has been determined that they are in breach of contract, what about the money they should have been paying all along? Is that included in the “deal”?

We have learned from a article in Shawangunk Journal that “a lot of people have that aspiration” for Terry Bernardo to run for Ulster County Executive. We have seen people “needing” her to run for Assembly District 103 (Kevin Cahill’s got to go!). And it’s no longer a secret that Terry wants to run for State Senate District 51.

Run Terry, run. For encouragement, look at the Poll on pol results.

I have questions for Terry Bernardo. Why run a third time for Legislature in 2013 when you know for a fact that you’d run for something else in 2014? You’ve been a lemon in the first term. You are a lemon now, in your second term. Why fool the people of Rochester again? Haven’t they made enough lemonade?
