Terry who?

Dump Terry Bernardo

I attended the Ulster County GOP unofficial nominating convention.

County nominees:
Ulster County Clerk: Nina Postupack
Ulster County Family Court: Judge Marianne Mizel
Comptroller: James Quigley

Ulster County Legislature:
All incumbent legislators have been nominated, except retiring Wayne Harris (District 9) and Terry Bernardo (District 21) who was a no-show (John Dawson got the nod).

The GOP did not field candidates in six out of twenty-three districts: 5, 7, 15, 17, 18 and 20.
Five candidates were nominated in districts currently not held by Republicans: 6, 16, 19, 22 and 23.

So, what do you want? VLTs! When do you want them? Now!
Why do you want them? No idea, but let’s ask David O’Halloran, Terry Bernardo and John Dawson, the GOP savior in the Legislative race, District 21. Between the three of them they surely have an answer…

And the winner is… David O’Halloran

Dump David O'Halloran and Terry Bernardo

As reported by the Liberty Coalition blog:

The Town of Rochester Republican Committee held a meeting earlier this evening to select a candidate to run for the District 21 Ulster County Legislature seat. The votes came in with 434 for John Dawson, challenger, and 202 for Terry Bernardo, incumbent and Chairwoman of the Ulster County Legislature. Manuela Michailescu, a previously declared candidate, apparently did not pursue the nomination and also abstained from voting as a Committee Member (she holds 108 weighted votes).

The real winner is David O’Halloran, the Bosshole of Rochester. He successfully sent a message to Terry Bernardo: no VLTs, no nomination. Attaboy! Manuela Michailescu was so disgusted with the O’Shenanigans that she refused to play the game. Meanwhile, John Dawson – the lucky winner – is looking forward to David O’Halloran organizing his next fundraising birthday party.

Breaking news! Terry Bernardo is a desperate idiot…

Dump David O'Halloran and Terry Bernardo

Between visits to her taxidermist, Terry Bernardo found the time to lodge a complaint against me, claiming that I hacked her computer. Apparently she is unable to grasp the idea that I hack brains, not computers.

So, this afternoon I had an intelligent conversation with two real gentlemen, Gaetano Buttari and Scott Vollano, both investigators with New York State Police, Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

True to herself, Terry Bernardo, the Chairwoman of Ulster County Legislature – after shamelessly wasting taxpayers’ money – moved on to wasting State Police’s time.

And I would like to know the answer to this question: did she lodge a written complaint as any other citizen would do, or she just used her phone – abusing the power of the office she holds?

Who’s Who

Dump David O'Halloran and Terry Bernardo

Can you match the people above with the words below?

Dump David O'Halloran and Terry Bernardo
Players play to win. They study the rules. They estimate their chances. They size up their opponents. They evaluate their strengths and their weaknesses. They plan out their strategy. They calculate their moves. When the odds are not in their favor, they bluff. They manipulate appearances to create the illusion of strength. They are clever rather than courageous, witty rather than wise, prudent rather than passionate, doubtful rather than hopeful, cynical rather than optimistic, diplomats with golden tongues rather than warriors with golden swords. They are master image makers, master pretenders.

Dump David O'Halloran and Terry Bernardo
Heroes are not players. Heroes see the game and want to know: Why? They know they have a choice: to play, or not to play. If the game is twisted and the outcome mad, they have the courage to say “I will not do this.” Their choice proves to everyone that everyone has choices. Anyone can choose to stop or change the rules or make up a different game. For heroes see beyond the game. And what they see has meaning. Without their vision and courage, everyone’s board would be empty, every move pointless, every game worthless.

David O’Halloran, the genius of Rochester

Dump David O'Halloran and Terry Bernardo

David O’Halloran, you came up with the above formula trying to explain what the Rochester candidates for Legislature stand for. Let’s take a closer look:

Terry obsessed with power
No s#*t Sherlock! After pushing Terry Bernardo for two election cycles, on top of managing her husband’s campaign for County Executive, suddenly you had this revelation?

Manuela obsessed with Terry
Really, David? Because this is what you wrote just a few days ago:

“Manuela is a good candidate, a person willing to serve the Town or County. As a committee member, I will encourage others to focus on her tremendous devotion to Rochester and those that live here.”

John obsessed with Rochester
John is John Dawson, a/k/a the savior of the Republican Party – if you listen to David. Same David who wrote on April 26, 2013:

“Dawson, I do not know him well, seems like a nice family guy…”

David, you know Dawson well enough to take Manuela’s “tremendous devotion to Rochester and those that live here” and give it to him: “John is obsessed with Rochester.” Really, David?

OK, you have the right to your opinion. But why ask your employeé to post it on a blog, anonymously? Next time you have an opinion, send it to me. You know I publish everything you write.

David O’Halloran, please don’t vote for Manuela!

Jon,

Thanks for talking, we may not agree on all, or sometimes most things, but I have great respect for your convictions. Sorry my vote for Dist 21 is not what you expect of me. Unfortunately, there is no crystal ball and only time will tell if I’m making the right decision. Be assured, my vote will not go to Terry. No need to lose sleep over that- Len & Terry are despicable people without convictions, ethics or any sense of integrity. My shame, I allowed their reign to grow because personal pride: having previously invested vast political capital in Len, I was too concerned of my political status. So no problem with your negative Blog posts, they are well deserved…post away.

Attributed to F. Scott Fitzgerald, this quote should make O’Halloran happy: “The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function.” For example, David has great respect for my convictions (above), but at the same time thinks that Len and I are one bad egg (below), despicable people without convictions, ethics or any sense of integrity (above). He holds opposite thoughts simultaneously, and still retains the ability to function at his best, as a one-man bullshit factory.

Jon, I’m sure there is some context that I’m missing on the “Houston” email. Hopefully the full post is better, your humor is off? Assuming your able to confirm who visits your site; I kicked the habit and have not seen it in over a week. As I said, fire away- I will not change my vote by your attacks or Len’s tactics. I consider you two… one bad egg.

David O’Halloran
Dump Terry Bernardo

Seriously now. Since April 18, David O’Halloran’s behavior was the subject of 15 posts. Everything I wrote is true. David calls it Jon’s ranting. Bullshit. Ranting means complaining. I’m not complaining. I’m exposing the Boss Hogg of Rochester.

It’s not easy to be O’Halloran these days, but he brought it upon himself, with years of playing games, disrespecting people, talking from both sides of his mouth, fibs, manipulations and self-serving shenanigans. In denial, he doesn’t think that he’s the issue, and claims it’s all about Jon wanting David to vote for Manuela.

Please David, DO NOT VOTE FOR MANUELA. I repeat, DO NOT VOTE FOR MANUELA. And, if you could help yourself, respect the other committee members for a change, and stop telling them how to vote.

And now, all together, let’s congratulate David O’Halloran for being elected on the Board of Education. I know that the election is on May 21, one week from today, but with three candidates fighting for three seats, who do you think is going to be the Board’s president?

One thousand comments… one thousandth comment…

Dump David O'Halloran and Terry Bernardo

David O’Halloran lectured me recently:

“Please follow Robin’s example, when you post a comment, do it under Rochester Smokeout. The Blog host should not post under anonymous.”

I’m sorry to disappoint you David: I do not post anonymous comments. I hope that my previous post helps you to believe me.

Forget O’Halloran… This post celebrates the one thousandth comment on this blog. For weeks I wondered what the one thousandth comment would read. Now I know:

“When are the voters going to smarten up and get rid of all of the political clowns?”

Too bad the anonymous author of the comment #1,000 couldn’t claim the prize without renouncing the anonymity…

As we reached the 1,000 comments mark, two other numbers deserve mentioning: the most views in one day (1,293) and the total views since June 1, 2012 (38,294).

David O’Halloran. Glenn Noonan. Strange bedfellows…

Dump David O'Halloran and Terry Bernardo

Cliché or not, politics makes strange bedfellows. Look for yourself. Here are the last three comments posted by Glenn Noonan on this blog after receiving a call from David O’Halloran. Say it ain’t so, then let’s compare phone records.

One thing David is correct about is stop throwing the stones tell us what Manuela wants to do and will do or at least try for the people of Rochester. We all hate the Bernardos and hope they go back to where they came from now that the damage is done. But lets look to the future and tell us why MANUELA?

Jon I think David is right you can chase him after the elections. I have a lot of faith in Manuela and think she would do the town great, BUT If I had a vote I would vote for Dawson. Terry is a nightmare. My fear would be everything is so negative that to bring that to Kingston does not help. The next legislature has a lot of fixing to do but it has to be positive and I do not see that here. Really a shame that Rochester gets deprived a great community asset because of the anger.

I am sorry to see Manuela getting out of politics in Rochester, she would of been good for the community. But I guess this blog is like political suicide, so I guess she is done. What a loss for Rochester.

Knowing the original source, I was amused – more or less – by number one and two, but number three crossed the line. Why on earth would Glenn Noonan spread such a fabricated rumor? What do you say, Glenn? Now that you are “sorry to see Manuela getting out of politics in Rochester,” how about you just being sorry, period. You should have known by now that I don’t care for games. Enjoy your older comments:

Kevin Cothren would be a great board member. O’Halloran remember was to good to even send his kids to the school so why would anyone want him on the school board?

    Glenn Noonan / 98.15.178.64 / Submitted on 2013/04/22
The State Attorney General knows all about Rochester, it is just not a big enough fish for them. They already have one in court from the BOE. Next watch Turco – could be the next one and all the TOR crooks will walk away.

    Glenn Noonan / 98.15.178.64 / Submitted on 2013/04/19
Just think maybe 2 birds one stone. Terry get the nomination Dave quits. Terry gets her ass beat by a Democrat and maybe takes Chipman with her. A win-win.

    Glenn Noonan / 98.15.178.64 / Submitted on 2013/04/18
I hear David lied and brought his own neighbor in to replace Manuela. Terry lied said she will now support VLT and change her ways. So nothing was done. Is there something in the water in Rochester to prevent the truth or do we just put all the lying, crooked wannabe politicians in one town

    Glenn Noonan / 98.15.178.64 / Submitted on 2013/04/11
O’Halloran is just simple out for himself. Bernardos are simple out for their egos. The root of the problem come from Bonacic – he started this fiasco, then left town. The state should be taking a close look at him, look at his financial – all gaming money! Chapman, LOL, I thought might disappear when Twinkies stopped production, but with all the money he is the henchman for King John. Cuomo wants to do something? Start right here in Ulster County.

    Glenn Noonan / 98.15.178.64 / Submitted on 2013/04/08
O’Halloran was part of the problem. A BIG part; now it affects his pocketbook and he bails out. What a self centered snob. Don’t trust him!

    Glenn Noonan / 98.15.178.64 / Submitted on 2013/03/21
7:41 right on they use all and everyone they can for their own persoal gain. Something like O’Halloran does

    Glenn Noonan / 98.15.178.64 / Submitted on 2013/03/19
I smell something funny over in Rochester Dunn is tight with O’Halloran. The Rochester group is trying to control the county. The problem they have is they have nothing to offer. The rest of the county will pay O’Halloran, Bernardo and anyone else on the gravy train.

    Glenn Noonan / 98.15.178.64 / Submitted on 2013/03/17
David’s only out for the money he could care less about the people.

    Glenn Noonan / 98.15.178.64 / Submitted on 2013/03/17
From years ago I remember Troy as an outstanding man who would be a great asset to the people he would represent. As long as he stays away from the dirt in the town, i.e. Bernardo, O’Halloran, etc.

    Glenn Noonan / 98.15.178.64 / Submitted on 2013/03/10
Hey Jon how about we all go on the Trip Advisor website and do a review for Pinegrove Ranch. Maybe that will help poor Dave so he doesn’t need to take Lens payoff

    Glenn Noonan / 98.15.178.64 / Submitted on 2013/03/10
Clawback might not be in their dictionary but look up CORRUPTION- It says Rochester NY Bernardo and O’Halloran.

    Glenn Noonan / 98.15.178.64 / Submitted on 2013/03/10
O’Halloran should be replaced as welll. HE is costing the taxpayers money by not enforcing the contract. And what about the poor sportsdome in Milton? It got screwed and no one went to bat for them. Where is Gerentine? Still trying to figure out where 39% tax increase went?

    Glenn Noonan / 98.15.178.64 / Submitted on 2013/03/06
Mr O’Halloran the chair of the Board also chair of the IDA that cover for Bernardo own personal bank.
